Reminder: Directly after class we’ll be having our Fish Fry Fundraiser. Join us for food, fun and fellowship. The food will be great, as always. It’s for a GREAT cause, raising funds for the financial wellness of the Tabernacle. Last but not least, its always a good time fellowshipping with our Sinaitic Family. There will be games there too! Positive Mindset

Shalom Family!

Did you know that your health could be affected by your positive or negative thoughts? According to a “Power in Positive Thinking” article in John Hopkins Medicine, there is definitely a strong link between “positivity” and health (John Hopkins Medicine, http://bit.ly/1M33VEb). With so much happening in the world, it’s difficult to ignore the challenges that are being faced.

While immediate changes may not be evident, you can begin with yourself to change your outlook.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” Philippians 4:8, NIV

Some suggestions that were provided in the article were to practice:

  • Smiling – it is said that even fake smiling helps to reduce heart rate and blood pressure during stressful times. Everyone can conjure up even a fake smile, though I’d like to believe that a genuine smile may have an even better affect. We have everything to smile about though it’s the norm to focus on what’s “not right” or what “you don’t have”. Let’s smile just because we’re here, if you change your mindset you’ll be able to see the many other blessings that have been provided.
  • Reframing – a great example given, instead of stressing about being stuck in traffic since it’s nothing you can do about it until it clears, just be grateful you can afford a car and now have a few more moments to listen to music. This can also be thought of in the context of a job. Many people complain about their jobs, while it may not be the place you want to be at…it pays the bills and until you can find different, be grateful that you have been provided with the means to provide for yourself and your family.
  • Resiliency – this is learning how to adapt to stressful changes, negative situation or losses. Some advice the article gave was to maintain good relationships with family and friends. If nothing else, you have a HUGE Sinaitic family to love on and be loved by. In addition, it was suggested to accept that change is apart of life so take action on issues instead of hoping it will go away.

So go out and have a positive day and week! Your health and your mind will thank you!

Under the Blood

Shalom Family!

This past Shabbat, 4 new servants of Elohim made their outward declaration that they believe in Yahshua and will be obedient to Yah’s laws and commandments.

Purification through Mikvah is a part of Yah’s plan for salvation; the plan of salvation  that he graciously has made available to all that love Him. There is one baptism, and with water purification all sins past have been cleansed through the blood of Yahshua. The person that emerges from the waters has transitioned from an unrighteous state to a righteous state of being and has renewed their relationship with Elohim.

“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.” Revelations 22:14, NIV

After purification, all actions will be held accountable for according to Yah’s laws and commandments.

“If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of Elohim.” Hebrew 10:26-27, NIV

This is a beautiful transition in life. Praise Yah for the opportunity to become right with Him again. Congratulations to Jay, Martin, Anjalaya and Uphaz on their Mikvah purification.

Family Day @ Jetton Park

Shalom Family!

We had a GREAT time fellowshipping at Jetton Park with our Sinaitic Family. Jetton Park had beautiful walking trails, a small beach area, and picnic areas surrounded by water.

With Yah’s will, we come together each Shabbat, but it felt good to come together outside of the normal gathering and bond as a Sinaitic family. It was great seeing the kids play together, draw with chalk on the concrete and take turns playing hop scotch and jump rope.

Chatting with elders, brothers and sisters, it was a memorable time accompanied by tons of delicious food and a beautiful shaded area to fellowship, eat and bond. Here are pictures from today’s gathering. Hope to see you at the next Family Day!

Sing Praises Unto Yah

Shalom Family!

We had a blessed time yesterday during our Sabbath convocation. In addition to learning the word of Yah, it’s always a delight to hear the choir sing praises unto Yah. On the 1st Shabbat of the month, we have the pleasure of hearing both The Sounds of Sinai and The Yeladim choir prior to the start of class.

Sounds of Sinai will soon be releasing their 2nd CD. In the interim, you can purchase their 1st CD, Monotheism, each Shabbat at the tabernacle. For remote congregants, you can purchase the CD by contacting the administrator, Sis. Kaliyah. *All proceeds benefit the well-being of NCCI, we thank you for your support in advance**

Teamwork!

Last night we kicked off one of our biggest fundraising initiatives, volunteering at the Bank of America Stadium during the Carolina Panthers season. By generously donating our time we in turned are blessed from the proceeds that benefit NCCI. We encourage everyone that has the availability to, to sign up for one or more of the games that will be held this season.

Come ready to work, because work it is, however it is also a great opportunity to work with your Sinaitic family and friends. Teamwork is the theme of each game that is worked because through all of the hiccups and malfunctions that may occur, overall we have fun and we stick together for the greater cause. Volunteers Needed!

Shalom Family!

It’s that time again! Our Bank of America Fundraising Initiative at the Panthers Stadium begins this Friday (Yom ShiShi), August 4th. The Carolina Panthers are starting off the season by having their annual Fan Fest and we need all hands on deck to man our assigned stations.

**Arrival time at the stadium this Friday is 3:30pm, if you will need to be late, please contact Sis. Katriel to make arrangements.** 

There are new rules in play this season and there are some steep fines for any ‘”i’s” that are not dotted and any “t’s” that are not crossed!

With that said, please be sure to contact Sis. Katriel at rleake100@bellsouth.net if you are able to volunteer at the stadium for this Friday or any upcoming Panther Stadium events. We need a minimum of 18 volunteers at each game!

If for some unforeseen emergency you are not able to volunteer after you have already committed, please let Sis. Katriel know no less than 24hrs from the day of the event.

**Volunteer lists have to be turned in the Tuesday of the week of the event or fees are incurred for us so please be sure to contact Sis. Katriel sooner than later***

Dress Code –  We have new shirts this season (they’ll be provided) and bottoms worn can be either black or khaki pants. Shoes must be either all black, white or tan. No jewelry (stud earrings are allowed). We will also be wearing the same visors from last season, so if you have one you may wear it.

Time for your Mammogram?

The Novant Health Breast Center mobile unit will be on-site at the Tabernacle on Friday, August 4th from 9:00 to 3:30 PM.  If it’s time for your yearly appointment or if you are getting a mammogram for the first time, please be sure to stop by. Walk-ins are an option, but they are asking that you call 704.384.7226 to reserve a time slot. This event is open to the public so please advise your family, co-workers and friends to stop by to get a mammogram or to get information on the process and next steps.

The flyer says 40 and over, but the representative advised that age 35 and over will qualify…bring insurance card and a picture ID at time of appointment…please do not wear deodorant to the mammogram. There also may be some options for individuals without insurance as well.  We will have to speak with the representatives on site to verify the options.

New Moon (Rosh Khodesh): This Holyday represents the first day of the month (Numbers 10:10). Rosh means head or beginning. Khodesh means new moon, month, monthly. The New Moon we observe is the covered (dark) moon (Psalm 81:4). Therefore all of our Holydays will be predicated upon the black moon and not the traditional sliver or crescent moon.

Fish Fry Family Fundraiser

There’s nothing like food and fellowship with your Sinaitic Family!

After the Sabbath convocation on 8/19/17, we’ll be having a fish fry fundraiser to raise funds to support the Tabernacle.

This will be a time for family and friends to fellowship while we eat some delicious fried fish and raise much needed funds for our tabernacle home.

Plates will be $10 each and will include: Croaker or Flounder with sides.

Day at the Park
